Sustainability Commitment

🌱 Our Commitment to Carbon Reduction

At Kit Out Clothing, we’re committed to doing our part for a cleaner, greener future. We have formally pledged to achieve Net Zero by 2050, and we’re already taking meaningful steps to reduce our carbon footprint across our operations.

Our current carbon footprint is 9.75 tCO₂e, based on guidance from the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and UK government standards. We regularly review and update our progress as we continue to improve.

🌍 What We’ve Already Achieved

Energy Efficiency Improvements

We’ve invested in practical upgrades that reduce heat loss and improve energy performance across our premises, including:

  • Secondary and triple glazing to minimise heat loss and improve insulation

  • Roof insulation to significantly reduce heating demand

  • Energy‑efficient working practices, such as switching off equipment after use and reducing unnecessary energy consumption

♻️ Smarter Waste & Resource Use

We’ve completed a full review of the waste we produce and identified opportunities to reuse materials and reduce what goes to landfill. This helps cut emissions linked to resource use and disposal.

🚗 Reducing Travel Emissions

We support remote working where possible, helping reduce commuting emissions and on‑site energy use.

🐝 Supporting Local Biodiversity

We’re proud to enhance the natural environment around our business by:

  • Planting native wildflowers and trees

  • Creating habitats such as bird boxes, insect hotels and hedgehog shelters

  • Providing food and water sources for wildlife year‑round

👕 Sustainable Garment Options for Customers

As part of our commitment to responsible sourcing, we offer a growing range of sustainable school uniforms and workwear. Customers can choose garments made from:

  • Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton

  • Fabrics certified to OEKO‑TEX® Standard 100

  • Recycled materials, helping reduce waste and lower the environmental impact of textile production

  • Other responsibly sourced, lower‑impact fabrics

These options allow families, schools and businesses to make more sustainable choices without compromising on comfort, durability or value.

💚 Our Ongoing Commitment

We’re continuing to invest in:

  • Energy‑efficient equipment

  • Improved waste segregation and recycling

  • Exploring electric vehicle options for our fleet

  • Engaging suppliers and customers in sustainable practices

This is an ongoing journey, and we’re committed to being transparent, responsible and proactive as we work towards Net Zero.
